Monday, Monday, Can't trust that day...

Again, I woke up very early for me and took a couple of hours for me to get drowsy enough to fall back to sleep for another cycle.  But then, the effort I make to go to the toilet for relief is just enough to trigger an Adrenalin response to prevent me from getting more rest. So I've learned to make sure I had enough relief in order to trigger a relaxation response from my body when possible.

What does the above have to do with it being Monday (as I write this)?  Well, I had enough to take care of today that even the slightest trigger would be enough to keep me awake for hours.  Couple this with the change of atmospheric pressure that has my knees reminding me how old I am, and even going back to bed for a couple of hours wouldn't help much.

Yesterday, my brother asked me to talk with the lawyer handling our house sale.  Luckily, I had called his office around 3 pm, and got an unsatisfying answer - it's the buyer's bank that is responsible for the delays in the sale of the house.  So when he called around 4 pm, I had already taken care of the one task that I had responsibility for today.  Now, when he calls, he won't look like he's a pain in the ass for calling twice in a single day.

A little later, I got showered, made up and dressed to go out to the diner.  (I was not in the mood to cook.) After finishing off half of my fish and chips, I then went to the supermarket to pick up food for the rest of the week.  I figured that I'd get this task done before my Zoom with our Texas friends this evening.  Was I in the mood for this?  No.  I'd have rather gone out for a drive tonight, as tomorrow will be a nasty day.

The  Zoom call went better than expected, as one of our Texas friends had more to contribute to the conversation than usual.  Yes, RQS and I did much of the talking.  But this time, it didn't feel like we were putting in all the effort to talk.

Monday, Monday - but I'm not complaining.

OK, so it's the start of the week. As usual, I stayed in much of the day, as I really don't like getting out of the bed until the afternoon.

When I looked to start my next letter to my meetup group's pen pal, I found out that I didn't finish last week's letter.  So I figured that I'd close up that letter, and send it out today.  Hopefully, my pen pal will enjoy receiving it.

On other matters, I ended up going out for the day as Marian.  I wasn't that busy.  It was a simple shopping run to the Wegmans in White Plains.  Considering that I needed to get some prepared meals for the week, it was best that I make the drive today, as the weather forecast for tomorrow calls for 2" of snow.

Arriving home, I picked up my mail.  Inside was the last 2 packages from my last order from Amazon - a chin strap for use with my CPAP mask, and a set of scissors for trimming nose hairs.  How interesting.  Yeah, right.  But these items are rarely found at the local drug store, and have to be ordered online.  I only wonder how people lived without being connected to the internet - and that's what we did until 30 years ago.  It's amazing how things have changed in our lifetimes!

Can I say that I did much?  Not really.  But I did get myself dressed up and out the door as Marian.  If I had more places to go, I might have gone to them.  Sadly, the pandemic is getting in the way of life - and will be doing so for the near future.

My legs didn't hurt when I got up, but....

OK, I'm not talking about pantyhose today.  But I figured my readers would want to look at something more interesting than my aching l...
