A mess to clean, a lunch to enjoy, and some laundry to wash

My apartment has always been in one degree of mess or another.  One can say that I've drowned in clutter over the years, and have come out of it with varying degrees of clutter removed from the mess.  Today, I have to clean up some of the mess, meet CCS for lunch, and do some laundry.

This morning, I was supposed to have a zoom with my niece in London.  I really wasn't in the mood to rush a conversation, nor was I in the mood to be talking too much, when I had a lunch engagement 30 minutes later with CCS.  So, I asked my niece to postpone for a week, and that worked for both of us.

Next, it was getting ready to pick CCS up.  She had some work done on her arm, and she is not able to drive while the arm heals.  So I had to put her address into my phone's GPS so that I could find her place. Once I picked her up, it was off to the restaurant for lunch.  We caught up on a lot of things, the disposition of family autos, her upcoming cruise, the sale of my family homestead and more.  it was a good conversation that had to end too soon.  So, I dropped her off at her place, and rushed back home for an urgently nee bio-break.

When I had the chance, I opened up a package from Kohl's - a new dress had arrived.  I wasn't sure if a 3x would fit me, but it did - the waist wasn't as tight as it could have been on me.  And it will be a very comfortable addition to my wardrobe for this summer.

I ended up taking a nap and woke up as the sun was setting.  Knowing that I was in for the night, I stripped off my makeup and finally prepared to do some laundry.  It was nice to get out as Marian again, and I hope to be able to finally get my nails done soon....

I finally got my nails done!

I finally had the chance to get my nails done.  It's something I've wanted to do for several weeks, but the need to go out as Mario has gotten in the way.  Seeing my brother, having a doctor's appointment, and having to go to the bank for the co-op has all made it impossible for me to have at least 7 days (or more) in female mode.  As a result, it didn't make sense to have polished nails.

RQS was scheduled to arrive in Croton at 5 pm.  So I had just enough time after I got dressed to get my nails done, have a little snack and get to the station.  When I arrived at the nail salon, they knew me enough to ask whether I was there for a mani-pedi or just a manicure.  Since I was there for just a manicure, I sat down at the manicure station and proceeded to have my nails done.  While there I struck up a conversation with a recently widowed woman, and got into talking about cruising and the lines we preferred.  (Later, I mentioned to RQS that I wish I could have befriended this woman as Marian.  But this was not likely, as this woman was visiting family in Croton, but lives on Long Island - a very inconvenient place for me to visit.)

Once my nails were done, I had time to kill.  So I filled up the car, then drove to the station to relax until RQS arrived.  She didn't see me at first, but after a few honks, she saw me and my car, and we were off to have dinner.  The first stop was at the new Thai restaurant in town.  They couldn't accommodate us until 8:30, so we drove to a Mexican restaurant nearby.  I had the paella, while RQS had some tacos.  Both were yummy.  But my dish had enough food in it to feed two people  So I had leftovers to eat sometime over the next day or two.

And then it was time to go home....

The rains came, and I stayed inside - but the snowflake is still in the news.

I already miss summer and the warmer weather that comes with it.  The dress I wore on this zoom call has been retired for the season, as well as the baseball team that usually plays in the ballpark behind me.  My winter wardrobe has come out of the storage containers they were once in, and my closet is now filled with cold weather garments.

Today, we had drenching rains in the NYC region.  Given that I had nothing much to do, I stayed inside where it was warm and comfortable - a perfect day for another Jammie Day!  However, two people I know had to go out in this rain and took the risk of getting drenched (one did) on the way to/from their destinations.  I can only imagine how rain water may have flooded some NYC subway stations. It's nice to know that I don't have to make that commute any more.

Even though I had nothing much to do, I took care of hanging up some clothes, and putting yesterday's laundry into my dresser. I figure that when RQS arrives tomorrow, I'll have a hamper filled with sheets and other items needing to be laundered.  But, I'll be able to see RQS again and take another drive North to see what is left on the trees after today's rain storm.

Tomorrow, I'll enjoy having a chance to go out and have my nails done.  As much as I enjoy the feminine side of life, current political developments may get in the way of things.  The snowflake has reduced the standards for people recruited into ICE, and we're hearing about more problems caused by people whose only loyalty is to the snowflake.  Innocent US Citizens are regularly scooped up in ICE raids, and I feel that the ICE recruitment is akin to Germany's staffing up of the SA and SS.  The big question is: which agency will become the snowflake's next terrorist organization, and model the SS for cruelty?  Once I see that happen, it will be time for me to go stealth and prepare to leave the country.  If this happens, I will leave a farewell message - assuming I have the chance to do so.

Computers - Where would we be without them?

When I started this post, I was looking for a picture of me (presenting as a male) next to the very computer I used when in college over 5...
